The collection currently comprises 380 pieces which are mainly kept in the Royal Palace of Madrid and the Royal Palace of Aranjuez. Amongst the objects inventoried we find board games, some toys, amusements and, above all, objects related to sports.
About half of the inventory items in this collection are pieces related to billiards, the preferred pastime of the Spanish court. There are magnificent rooms dedicated to this precision sport in the Royal Palaces, where you can find cues, balls, tables, and scoreboards of extraordinary quality.
There is a small number of objects related to other sports such as polo, gymnastics, fencing, golf, skating and tennis.
Only a small proportion of these objects are on public display, as it is very difficult to integrate this type of piece into the room decorations at the various Royal Sites. Despite this, their great historical value is undeniable, as they form one of the collections that best reflects one of the most intimate and private facets of the Court's daily life.
