The Monte de El Pardo is a natural area of extraordinary value, considered the largest Mediterranean forest in the Community of Madrid and one of the best preserved in Europe, located to the north of the capital, and with an area of 15,821 hectares.

It constitutes an important ecological and biological reserve as a typical but strongly continental Mediterranean holm oak forest

PUBLIC USE AND CONSERVATION

The Monte de El Pardo Environmental Protection Plan allows the conservation of this unique space to be made compatible with public use, with an area of ​​some 1,000 hectares being accessible between the urban area of ​​the Royal Site and its southern tip.

There are parking areas, ecological trails, viewpoints and recreational areas duly marked.

Visitors access

Its access is made by the M-605 road (Madrid-El Pardo) and from the M 612 road (Fuencarral-El Pardo). The bus service for lines 601 and 602 constitutes the means of public transport.
